Gran Canaria – Spain 23.10.08

To the Chairman of WREC – World Renewable Energy Congress

Dear Prof. Ali Sayigh

Project 37 – Please read the original Email from Mr. Matias Gonzalez
UNESCO Chair on Tourism Planning and Sustainable Development
University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Spain – today 23.10.08.

As you see there is an immediate help for low-cost and local resources based energy projects in the Delta of Saloum (Senegal) communities.

I hope so much this matter to be a part of WREC activity on Brighton in December. I try to be in Senegal soon and train in some of 11 Villages Sun Energy, before I fly to Brighton on 04.12.08. I would provide a special Report from Senegal with pictures of my training there.

Best wishes and see you in Brighton

Mohammad Sani

Gran Canaria 23.10.08

Dear Mr. Sani:

Again thank you very much for work and knowledge in the very interesting Seminar we have had this morning in our University with the UNESCO Chair on Tourism Planning and Sustainable Development members.

As I told you we are still very interested in undertaking low-cost and local resources based energy projects in the Delta of Saloum ( Senegal ) communities.

However in these moments we are focusing our work in providing local capacities to local people for promoting ecotourism activities. Energy aspects of our work are stopped because of lack of funding to undertake them.

So we would love you to go to the communities in Senegal to show then how to take advantage of their local resources to get cheap and clean energy and drinking water. We would provide you assistance to move throughout the area and contacts to develop different workshops with local communities.

We hope to hear from you soon with respect to our proposal.

Yours sincerely,

Matias Gonzalez
